Astrology

Ancient Astrology

DIMENSIONS IN ASTROLOGY - Copyright 1982 & 1986

In 1981, an editor of two local newspapers, who had read and was fascinated by Astrology - The Cosmic Stradivarius, asked me to write a series of articles on ancient astrology which would be published weekly for one year under the title The Oldest Science.   Later, the series was syndicated and ran in several other newspapers over the course of a few years.   In 1986, the fifty-two articles were compiled and published in this little soft-cover book under a new title (Dimensions in Astrology).
ISBN 0917578099

Ancient astrology is far different from modern "pulp" astrology, and the foundation of astrology has been found to be of a musical nature.   It may also seem strange to consider astrology and music as branches of science.   Yet, Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, Tycho Brahe, Johanne Kepler, and Sir Isaac Newton were all astrologers - and music is actually mathematics as experienced by the ear and the auditory portion of the brain.

Today, the fact that some of our prominent scientists were astrologers is kept from the public whenever possible.   Much of the Old Testament in the Holy Bible was taken from documents written in Hebrew which were meant to be a time capsule teaching ancient science - but this is also kept from the public whenever possible, thus requiring one to have some ability at translating and decoding ancient Hebrew to discover the old truths.

There is a movement today to present more facts to the public by showing how real astrology works and why the ancient scientists (including the Judeans) used it so extensively.   This book is part of that movement.

Cosmic

ASTROLOGY - THE COSMIC STRADIVARIUS - Copyright 1974

For a long time, I was reluctant to place this book on this list.   Trying to convince so-called scientists that astrology is a valid scientific discipline, when I have another battle going with them already, seems to be too much.   However, when I looked on the web and discovered that a first copy of the "Strad" was on sale for over $49, it seemed that the cat was out of the bag.   Also, it seems wrong to sell the book for such a high price when I still have some copies for the original price.

There is a family story about this book that should be told.   It is the first book I ever wrote.   I used an old IBM typewriter to make the master copies - quite a chore as compared to creating today's computer masters.   And the real credit for the book ever being written goes to my mother.   Mother was an amateur astrologer.   She had done a lot of reading on her own and had found a mentor to teach her astrology.   By the time I resigned my commission in the Air Force, she was becoming known for her new talent and was doing her best to interest me in that discipline.   She knew that, as an Air Force navigator, I could learn quickly the calculations necessary to erect an astrology chart.

She had a difficult time with me because I had my Bachelor of Science degree, had been instructing line navigators, and knew that astrology was a "quack" science - that the stars could not influence me.   However, I finally agreed to read a book she presented to me because I knew that if I were to read that astrology book, I could show her where it went wrong and she would stop bothering me with such nonsense.

As it turned out, the book was correct and I was wrong.   The fact that astrology works piqued my curiosity and I began to check it out more thoroughly and do charts for people.   I wanted to know why astrology works.   In the process I devised a better way to erect astrology charts and began to decode some of the astrological secrets of the ancient Chaldean and Hebrew astrologers.   Six years after I began my research I finished my notes enough to write this book on my findings.

The "Strad" was ahead of its time and not too many copies sold.   Furthermore, those who could understand it reasonably well had to have a working knowledge of math, be able to comprehend astronomy and celestial mechanics to some degree, and care enough to learn the secrets of interpreting astrology charts.   And since much of my research was the result of translating Hebrew from the Torah (the Hebrews were excellent astrologers), the usual variety of astrologer who used the old but newer Greek system had to learn a knew way of doing things.

It would be wise to read Dimensions in Astrology before attempting to read this book.   The Cosmic Stradivarius contains secrets of Hebrew astrology, how it is a form of gestalt psychology, the ancient history of astrology, and more.   It comes in a plastic "comb" binding, has 282 pages, and there will probably not be another printing once these copies are sold.

Music

ASTROLOGY - THE MUSIC OF LIFE - Copyright 1974 & 1984

After I published Astrology - The Cosmic Stradivarius, some friends told me it was too condensed and needed expanding.   THE MUSIC OF LIFE is an expansion of the first third of the "Strad" and has better transitions.   I began an expanded version of the second third of the "Strad" but never finished it.   At the time, it was obvious that not enough interested people could handle the details in the "Strad" and that I would not get my investment back if tried to pursue it further.

Again, it would be wise to read Dimensions in Astrology before attempting to read this book.   The Music of Life contains more about Hebrew astrology, how it is a form of gestalt psychology, the history of astrology, the meaning of symbols and myths, and more.   The book has 351 pages and is softbound.

Program

Flute Design Computer Program

Back to Menu
Perhaps the most successful and convenient method for designing flutes is by computer.   My computer design program was written by me during the course of six years.   It allows one to tailor the flute to the individual and to complete several weeks of work in the space of less than ten minutes.   The flute design program for Native American flutes is made to be used in conjunction with the flutemaking series or the theory books found above.   Two books especially are recommended to be used in conjunction with the flute design program.   These are (1) Creating and Using the Native American Love Flute, and (2) Secrets of the Flute.   The more one understands the information in my flute books, the better will be the flutemaker's ability to use the program.   Secrets of the Flute is available for a time in a discounted version.

The flute design program includes subprograms most suitable for designing Native American style flutes in keys from E above middle C to the C above middle C, and in many different tunings - and has certain automatic functions which aid in reducing the time involved.   It has another subprogram for advanced work in the most common tuning for Native American style flutes - especially very low or very high flutes.   Subprograms are also included for making straightbore shakuhachis, kenas, kavals, diagonals, and transverse flutes.   This program is not available to retailers.

At one time, there were three different options for the Flute Design Program.   If you are a registered customer who bought either option one or two and wish to upgrade to option three (this one), please go to www.lewpaxtonprice.us and get details on upgrading.

The program options come on two floppy disks for those who have a 3.5" floppy drive, or a single CD for those who have a CD drive.   The CD version is recommended if you have a CD drive.   You should know how to copy the contents into folders ("directories" if you have an old DOS operating system).   The program options are based upon a DOS spreadsheet which runs fine in DOS or Windows operating systems and can be used in a Mac system with a "translating" program (of which there are at least four at this time).
